[08-02-2024] Two People Injured After Suspected Two-Vehicle DUI Collision in Oxnard Two people were injured after a suspected two-vehicle DUI collision in Oxnard early Friday morning, August 2, 2024. 

According to the Oxnard Police Department, the crash happened around 2:18 a.m. at the corner of N. C Street and Eastwood Drive. 

Authorities stated that a 2014 Hyundai Accent was traveling northbound when it crashed into an unoccupied parked 2018 Dodge Ram 3500. 28-year-old Giovanni M. from Oxnard and his 24-year-old passenger were found trapped inside the Hyundai. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and extricated both individuals from the vehicle. 

The driver of the Hyundai sustained serious injuries while the passenger’s situation worsened by the minute, requiring emergency surgery. Both of them were transported to Ventura County Medical Center in critical but stable condition. 

Investigation showed that alcohol may have played a role in the collision.
