A man was killed and a woman sustained major injuries in a head-on collision on California City Boulevard on Sunday night, August 3, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol Mojave Area, officers were dispatched at approximately 8:48 p.m. to the area near Joshua Boulevard in response to a reported crash.
Investigators determined that a woman driving a Kia northbound on California City Boulevard crossed over the broken yellow lines into the southbound lanes, where she collided head-on with a BMW driven by a man.
The male driver of the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman driving the Kia was transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center with major injuries.
CHP officials stated that impairment is not suspected to be a factor at this time.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
