[08-06-2025] Pedestrian Killed in Collision on Highway 4 in AntiochA pedestrian died after being struck by two vehicles on eastbound Highway 4 in Antioch on Wednesday night, August 6, 2025.

The collision occurred at approximately 7:35 p.m., just west of the Somersville Road exit.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the man walked into traffic from the right shoulder of the highway and made it to the far left lane. He was first hit by an oncoming Ford van, which caused him to fall into the far left lane, where he was struck again by a Subaru Forester.

The CHP stated that the first collision appeared unavoidable as the pedestrian walked directly in front of the Ford. Despite efforts by paramedics and CHP officers to rescue him, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the pedestrian pending family notification. The incident remains under investigation.
