[08-07-2024] Ventura County, CA – 32-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured After Electric Tricycle Vs. Pickup Truck Collision Along Foothill Road

A 32-year-old man was seriously injured after an electric tricycle vs. pickup truck collision in Ventura on Wednesday morning, August 7, 2024.

According to the Ventura Police Department, the accident occurred around 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Foothill Road and La Fonda Drive.

Preliminary investigations by the Ventura Police revealed that the man was riding an electric recumbent tricycle southbound on La Fonda Drive, a notably steep downhill road. Extensive tire skid marks at the scene indicate the tricyclist could not stop at the intersection’s stop sign in time, resulting in a crash against an eastbound pickup truck.

Responding officers discovered the tricyclist, only described as a 32-year-old Ventura resident, lying in the roadway unconscious. He was transported to a local hospital after sustaining major injuries, where he remains under medical care.

It is not immediately known if the pickup truck driver suffered any injuries. Neither of the parties involved were named yet.

No further details were released, and authorities are gathering all the necessary information to determine the factors leading to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
