A passenger suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle hit-and-run crash in San Diego’s Mountain View neighborhood on Friday evening, August 7, 2026.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred around 7:14 p.m. at the intersection of Ocean View Boulevard and 39th Street.
Police said a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling eastbound on Ocean View Boulevard at a high rate of speed when its driver entered the intersection without stopping and collided with a northbound 2012 Ford F-150.
The Camaro driver fled the scene and has not been identified. A passenger in the Camaro sustained a fractured femur and fractures to the tibia and fibula. The 20-year-old driver of the F-150 and his passenger reported pain following the collision.
Authorities have not determined whether impairment was a factor. The authorities continue to investigate the hit-and-run crash.
