[08-07-2026] San Francisco County, CA – Scooter Rider Killed in Crash Near Powell and Market St.

A person riding a scooter was killed in a traffic collision near Powell and Market streets in San Francisco on Friday morning, August 7, 2026.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, authorities received a report around 8:18 a.m. involving a person on a scooter. 

The San Francisco Fire Department said the initial call was reported as a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision. First responders found the victim near a scooter and attempted lifesaving measures, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the vehicle and driver involved in the collision were located, and the driver cooperated with investigators. 

The San Francisco Police Department’s Traffic Collision Investigation Unit continues to investigate the crash.
