Two teenage boys were injured in a hit-and-run crash in Calimesa on Friday afternoon, August 8, 2025.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Calimesa Boulevard and Myrtlewood Drive, just east of Interstate 10.
Authorities said the suspect, identified as 47-year-old Jaime M. of Yucaipa, was driving when he allegedly struck a vehicle occupied by the two boys and fled the scene.
The victims were transported to a regional trauma center with major but non-life-threatening injuries. One was released from the hospital on Sunday, while the other remained in stable condition on Monday.
Investigators identified Jaime as the suspected driver and arrested him at his residence in the 34000 block of Avenue E on Sunday morning. An adult passenger who was with him at the time of the crash was questioned but not arrested.
Jaime was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of hit-and-run resulting in great bodily injury and was later released on a $35,000 bond.
The incident remains under investigation.
