An SUV slammed into the side of an apartment building following a two-vehicle crash in San Luis Obispo on Sunday morning, August 10, 2025.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 10:35 a.m. at the intersection of Los Osos Valley Road and Royal Way and involved a red Chevrolet Tahoe and a silver Honda.
A witness told law enforcement that one of the vehicles ran a red light, though it was unclear which vehicle was involved. At least two people were in the Honda, and at least one was in the Chevrolet. The number of injuries has not been confirmed, but at least one person was transported by ambulance.
San Luis Obispo Fire Battalion Chief Ray Hais said the crash caused significant damage to the building’s first story, which also affected the second story. The building department is expected to red-tag the structure. Both the upstairs and downstairs units will be displaced.
Hais added that the apartment’s residents were not home at the time, but a small chihuahua inside was unharmed and reunited with its owners. The upstairs neighbor was home and described hearing the collision before seeing the SUV in the unit below.
The crash remains under investigation.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
