A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a two-vehicle crash in Monterey on Monday morning, August 11, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred shortly after 8 a.m. on Holman Highway when a Mercedes rear-ended a Ford Transit, causing the Transit to overturn.
CHP said the Ford Transit came to rest on the road’s shoulder, while the Mercedes landed on its roof. Photos from the scene showed an axle from one of the vehicles lying on the roadway.
No injuries were reported, and each vehicle had a single occupant. The driver of the Mercedes was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Westbound traffic was closed for several hours during the investigation and cleanup.
