At least one person was injured in a three-vehicle collision near Vista in San Diego County on Wednesday night, August 19, 2026.
According to preliminary California Highway Patrol reports, the crash was reported shortly before 10:30 p.m. near State Route 76 and East Vista Way.
CHP initially reported two vehicles involved, then updated the incident to a three-vehicle collision involving a red sedan, a white sedan, and a gray sedan. Both directions of SR-76 were blocked following the crash.
Witnesses reported that one driver sustained at least moderate injuries and was transported to Palomar for treatment.
A man driving a white Nissan Altima was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence. Reports also indicated that another driver was suspected of DUI, but information regarding a possible second arrest was not immediately available.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
