[08-20-2024] Juvenile Pedestrian Killed After Hit-And-Run Crash on Mesa View Drive in VictorvilleA juvenile pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle after a hit-and-run crash in Victorville on Tuesday evening, August 20, 2024.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Mesa View Drive near Olivine Road. 

Responding firefighters from the Victorville City Fire Department called in a medical helicopter to transport the injured juvenile to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Despite life-saving measures, the juvenile was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Witnesses described the pedestrian as a Hispanic male between 13 and 15 years old, wearing a black jacket and black pants, and carrying a bag with chips and drinks.

Deputies determined that a royal blue vehicle was traveling south on Mesa View Drive when it struck the male pedestrian and fled the scene. The driver remains at large.
