A hit-and-run crash caused traffic delays in Sonora on Wednesday morning, August 20, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at about 11:24 a.m. on Mono Way near Sanguinetti Road, just east of the Ford dealership.
Authorities said a vehicle was forced off the roadway, leaving it disabled and blocking the westbound lanes. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene, and no description has been released.
Officers directed traffic for about two hours while a tow crew cleared the wreckage. CHP confirmed there were no injuries in this crash.
Earlier that morning, a separate hit-and-run involving a bicyclist with injuries was reported on Greenley Road near Cabezut Road. It is not yet known if the two incidents are related.
Authorities continue to investigate.
