Two motorcyclists were injured in a hit-and-run collision on Lake Boulevard in Redding late Friday night, August 22, 2025.
According to the Redding Police Department, the crash occurred in the westbound lanes of Lake Boulevard between Clay Street and St. Marks Street shortly before midnight.
Authorities said a trailer detached from a silver truck traveling westbound and collided with two motorcyclists who were heading eastbound. Both riders sustained serious injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The driver of the silver truck did not stop and continued westbound on Lake Boulevard. Investigators said dash camera footage from a witness captured the vehicle and provided leads in the case.
The Redding Police Department confirmed the roadway was temporarily closed during the emergency response and initial investigation. Officers are still searching for the truck and its driver and are asking anyone with information to contact the Redding Police Traffic Unit.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
