[08-25-2024] Passenger Killed After DUI Crash on Buenaventura Boulevard in ReddingA passenger was killed after a DUI crash in Redding on early Sunday morning, August 25, 2024.

According to the Redding Police Department, officers responded to the crash at around 12:17 a.m. on Buenaventura Boulevard near Teton Drive.

Authorities found a car fully engulfed in flames in the center of the roadway. The Redding Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire.

Officials said one passenger was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The passenger was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Another passenger was not injured and was released at the scene.

The driver, a 19-year-old male identified as Cristian B., was arrested for vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence, causing great bodily injury or death, and driving without a license. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail.
