A fiery two-vehicle crash temporarily shut down lanes on Interstate 80 in Loomis, Placer County, on Wednesday morning, September 2, 2026.
According to California Highway Patrol traffic logs, the collision involving a pickup truck and an SUV was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. on I-80.
One of the vehicles went through the center divider, prompting authorities to close all westbound lanes. An eastbound lane was also blocked.
Information regarding possible injuries or the circumstances leading to the collision was not immediately available.
