[09-06-2025] Three-Vehicle Crash Causes Car Fire, Blocks Northbound Highway 101 Near Santa Maria Speedway in NipomoA three-vehicle crash that resulted in a car fire blocked northbound traffic on Highway 101 near Santa Maria Speedway in Nipomo, San Luis Obispo County, on Saturday morning, September 6, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Page, the crash was reported at 11:05 a.m. Cal Fire units arrived to find one vehicle fully engulfed in flames. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Authorities said tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles, and traffic was heavily backed up between Santa Maria and Nipomo as of noon. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
