[09-10-2026] Orange County, CA – 83-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Suspected DUI Crash in Lake Forest

An 83-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in Lake Forest, Orange County, on Thursday night, September 10, 2026. 

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the incident at around 8:00 p.m. in the area of Portola Parkway and Market Place.

Officers located the pedestrian and transported him to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Authorities withheld his identity pending notification of relatives.

Sheriff’s officials identified the driver as 48-year-old Lake Forest resident Sean K. He was taken into custody following the collision on suspicion of driving under the influence and was later booked into the Orange County Jail.

Investigators with the Major Accident Investigation Team continue to investigate the collision.
