A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Oakland on Thursday morning, September 11, 2025.
According to the Oakland Police Department, the collision occurred shortly after 8:45 a.m. in the area of Eighth Street and Broadway. The victim was transported to a local hospital but did not survive.
Police reported that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. It was not immediately known whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
