Two teens were killed, and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in rural Brentwood late Saturday night, September 12, 2026.
According to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, firefighters responded shortly before midnight to Deer Valley Road near Balfour Road.
Authorities said the collision involved a silver BMW and a silver Infiniti sedan. Four people were involved in the crash, with two pronounced dead at the scene and two others suffering injuries.
Liberty High School Principal Efa Huckaby confirmed Sunday evening that the two people who died were students at the school. She also said another Liberty High School student was among those injured. Authorities have not released the ages or identities of the two students who died.
Initial reports indicated that the Infiniti may have been reversing in the roadway before the collision. The California Highway Patrol said there was no active police pursuit involving the BMW at the time of the crash. Antioch police said the BMW had been sought in connection with a pursuit several days earlier involving another law enforcement agency.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
