A man was killed after being struck by two vehicles while crossing Union Avenue in Bakersfield on Monday night, September 15, 2025.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers responded around 10:20 p.m. to the 3300 block of Union Avenue, where they found the man suffering from severe injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police reported that the man was walking eastbound outside of a crosswalk across the 3500 block of Union Avenue when he was first struck by a vehicle. While he was still down in the roadway, a second vehicle hit him and left the scene. The first driver stopped and cooperated with authorities.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
