[09-25-2026] Riverside County, CA – Three Construction Workers Killed, Big Rig Driver Severely Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision in Blythe

Three construction workers were killed, and a big rig driver suffered severe injuries after a multi-vehicle collision on the eastbound 10 Freeway in Blythe on Friday morning, September 25, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 6:00 a.m. on the eastbound 10 Freeway near Intake Boulevard.

CHP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a big rig traveling eastbound at an unknown speed struck a parked attenuator construction vehicle and an unoccupied Chevrolet Silverado before colliding with a water truck.

During the sequence of events, three construction workers were struck and suffered fatal injuries, according to CHP.

The big rig driver, identified as a 44-year-old Redlands man, suffered severe head and leg injuries and was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. CHP said alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the collision.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
