[09-25-2026] Ventura County, CA – Woman Suffers Major Injuries in Motorcycle Crash South of Santa Paula

A 78-year-old Thousand Oaks woman suffered major injuries after a motorcycle went down an embankment south of Santa Paula on Friday afternoon, September 25, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers received a report of the crash at around 12:35 p.m. in the 18000 block of South Mountain Road.

CHP said the woman was a passenger on a Harley-Davidson Street Glide driven by an 81-year-old Las Vegas man. Both were found approximately 50 feet down the embankment.

The woman was airlifted to Los Robles Regional Medical Center with major injuries. The motorcyclist suffered minor injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcycle was traveling westbound at approximately 35 to 40 mph when the rider, for unknown reasons, was unable to fully negotiate a turn. CHP said the motorcycle moved toward the gravel before continuing down the embankment and overturning, ejecting both occupants.

The CHP’s Ventura area office continues to investigate the crash.
