A man was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Oakland on Saturday morning, October 3, 2026.
According to the Oakland Police Department, officers responded shortly before 6:00 a.m. to 17th Street and Lakeside Drive following an incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Police said the man was in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle reportedly traveling at high speed. He suffered life-threatening injuries and later died.
The driver left the scene following the incident. Authorities have not located the driver or the vehicle involved.
The investigation remains ongoing.
