Two drivers were hospitalized after a collision at Marin Circle in the Berkeley Hills, Alameda County, on Saturday afternoon, October 5, 2024.
According to Acting Berkeley Fire Department Battalion Chief DeJuan Turner, the incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. when a 73-year-old driver reportedly lost control while descending Marin Avenue.
The vehicle went through Marin Circle, missing the fountain, and eventually came to rest on its side after striking a 41-year-old driver’s vehicle and several bollards.
BFD had to extricate the 73-year-old man from the vehicle, after which he was transported with lights and sirens to Highland Hospital, a regional trauma center. The other driver was also taken to Highland Hospital. Both drivers reported complaints of pain.
The investigation is ongoing.
