[10-06-2024] One Person Killed After Hit-And-Run Collision on Highway 84 in HaywardA fatal hit-and-run collision left one person dead on westbound Highway 84 near South Paseo Parkway in Hayward early Sunday morning, October 6, 2024.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene at approximately 5:41 a.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian fatality.

CHP officials stated that an individual was struck by a gray Dodge Charger, which fled the scene immediately following the crash. 

Responding officers recovered the vehicle’s license plate at the crash site and later visited the registered owner’s residence. However, no arrests have been announced.

Authorities suspect only one occupant was in the Dodge Charger during the incident. The investigation is ongoing as CHP seeks further information regarding the crash.
