Injuries were reported after a hit-and-run crash on eastbound Highway 44 in Redding on Friday afternoon, October 9, 2026.
According to California Highway Patrol traffic logs, the crash was reported at about 2:34 p.m. on eastbound Highway 44 under Interstate 5, near the Hilltop Drive off-ramp.
CHP logs showed that at least two vehicles may have been involved in the collision.
A red vehicle with crash damage was reported near the center divider, while another vehicle with rear damage was located on the northbound Interstate 5 on-ramp from eastbound Highway 44.
A Chevrolet Trailblazer with moderate front-end damage was towed from the scene.
Medical personnel were also requested following the crash. The extent of any injuries was not immediately known.
Authorities continue to investigate the reported hit-and-run collision.
