A bicyclist was killed after being struck by a DUI hit-and-run driver in Sacramento on Saturday night, October 12, 2024.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the collision occurred just after 11:30 p.m. when a car struck a bicyclist at the intersection of Marysville Boulevard and Main Avenue.
Officers arrived on the scene and found a man who was pronounced dead by first responders. The driver fled the scene before law enforcement arrived but was located a short distance away.
The driver, Vicente P., 53, of West Sacramento, exhibited signs of intoxication and was arrested on related charges.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
