Two motorcyclists were critically injured after colliding with an SUV making a U-turn on Highway 178 in Bakersfield on Sunday morning, October 12, 2025.
According to Bakersfield police, the crash occurred around 9:38 a.m. in the 13300 block of Highway 178.
The man and woman on the motorcycle suffered major injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Police said both the motorcycle and a Honda CR-V were traveling eastbound on Highway 178 when the Honda attempted a U-turn, leading to the collision. Neither speed nor impairment is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
