A woman was killed, and a man was injured in a solo-vehicle crash in Fairfield early Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:15 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 80 near Manuel Campos Parkway.
The woman, believed to be between 20 and 25 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene. The male passenger, also between 20 and 25 years old, sustained major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The right lanes of eastbound I-80 remain blocked as crews work to investigate and clear the wreckage. Authorities have not provided an estimated time for the lanes to reopen and are advising drivers to expect delays or use alternate routes.
