[10-19-2025] Tulare County, CA – Woman Killed in Head-On Collision with Unlicensed 18-Year-Old Driver Near Richgrove

A woman was killed in a head-on collision with an unlicensed 18-year-old driver near Richgrove in Tulare County on Sunday afternoon, October 19, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Avenue 8, west of Road 208. 

The 18-year-old driver from Delano was traveling westbound in a Chevrolet Traverse when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a Nissan Versa driven by a 52-year-old woman from Delano.

The woman sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been officially released. The driver of the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries but was not transported to a hospital.

CHP reports that drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash. However, charges of manslaughter and driving without a license are being recommended to the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office for review against the 18-year-old driver.
