[10-21-2024] Motorcyclist Killed After Collision with Vehicle on Orange Avenue in Chula VistaA motorcyclist died after a crash involving a vehicle in Chula Vista on Monday afternoon, October 21, 2024.

The Chula Vista Police Department responded to reports of a crash at around 12:23 p.m. in the 200 block of Orange Avenue.

According to authorities, a black and silver Honda motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Orange Avenue when it collided with a silver Nissan Versa, which was making a southbound turn into a driveway.

The motorcyclist struck the passenger side of the Nissan as it turned, and despite life-saving efforts, the rider was pronounced dead at the hospital. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash, and the 56-year-old Nissan driver is cooperating with authorities.

The CVPD traffic bureau is investigating the collision and urges witnesses to come forward with any information.
