Two women were hospitalized with major injuries after a head-on crash in Bakersfield early Wednesday morning, October 22, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:19 a.m. on Edison Road near Muller Road.
A 50-year-old woman was driving southbound on Edison Road, north of Muller Road, while a 21-year-old woman was driving northbound on the same roadway. For reasons still under investigation, the 21-year-old’s vehicle veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with the other vehicle.
Both drivers sustained major injuries and were transported to Kern Medical for treatment.
CHP said alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
