A 60-year-old man sustained severe injuries in a collision involving his motorcycle and a car in San Diego’s Bay Terraces neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, October 23, 2024.
San Diego Police officers responded to the scene at the intersection of Paradise Valley Road and Briarwood Road at around 3:40 p.m.
The victim was driving his black 2019 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Paradise Valley Road. As he made a left turn onto northbound Briarwood Road, a 63-year-old woman driving a red 2015 Toyota Prius westbound entered the intersection, causing the motorcyclist to lose control and slide into the Prius.
The man was transported to a hospital, where he was treated for facial fractures and a brain bleed. Authorities have confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
