Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a 63-year-old woman with serious injuries in El Cajon on Thursday night, October 23, 2025.
According to El Cajon police, the woman was crossing southbound in the area of Main and Orlando streets when she was struck by a westbound vehicle around 10 p.m. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with major injuries. Her name has not been released.
After the collision, the vehicle fled the scene. Investigators later identified the suspect vehicle as a Hyundai Sonata. The car was found parked and unoccupied in a nearby neighborhood, but the driver remains at large.
The investigation is ongoing.
