A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Coachella on Thursday evening, October 31, 2024.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene around 6:57 p.m. after receiving reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Avenue 49 and Grapefruit Boulevard.
Upon arrival, they found the pedestrian in the roadway and pronounced them dead, according to Lt. Deirdre Vickers from the sheriff’s department.
The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the collision, and no further information was available as of Thursday night.
