A motorcyclist was killed after a hit-and-run crash in Apple Valley, San Bernardino County, on Monday afternoon, November 4, 2024.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:52 p.m. near the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Iroquois Road, close to the Burger King restaurant.
Witnesses reported that CPR was being administered to the male motorcyclist, who was found down on the roadway next to a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Emergency personnel arrived shortly after and pronounced the rider deceased at the scene.
According to Sheriff’s spokeswoman Gloria Huerta, deputies responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a sedan and a motorcycle. The vehicle fled the scene but was located nearby. The driver, however, escaped on foot and remains at large.
Bear Valley Road is currently closed between Kiowa Road and Mockingbird Avenue while the Apple Valley Police Department conducts its investigation into the hit-and-run accident.
