A crash resulted in critical injuries for one driver and minor injuries for three others on Highway 50 in South Sacramento on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
The collision occurred around 4:10 p.m. on the westbound side of the highway, between Howe and Watt Avenues.
Authorities stated that the first vehicle, driven by a man, failed to reduce speed. The driver nearly sideswiped another car before crashing into the back right side of a Jeep, causing a chain reaction of milder collisions involving two additional vehicles.
The driver of the vehicle that failed to stop was extricated from his car and was transported with critical injuries. The Jeep sustained major damage, and at least three other individuals suffered minor injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
