A man was injured after a suspected DUI driver caused a wrong-way head-on collision in Bakersfield late Saturday night, November 16, 2024.
According to the Bakersfield Fire Department, the crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of 27th and First Streets.
Authorities stated that a driver traveling the wrong way collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle.
The Hall ambulance paramedics transported the injured male to a local hospital. His condition and the extent of his injuries remain unknown.
Two males from the oncoming vehicle were uninjured and remained at the scene as officers from the Bakersfield Police Department initiated an investigation.
Authorities are working to determine the exact circumstances of the crash and confirm whether the wrong-way driver was under the influence.
