A bicyclist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Willow Pass Road in Pittsburg on Friday night, November 22, 2024.
The Pittsburg Police Department responded to the crash at approximately 9:17 p.m. after a caller reported a person down in the roadway. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of Willow Pass Road.
The victim, identified as 50-year-old Joaquin R., was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. According to a GoFundMe page created for his funeral expenses, the victim was on his way home from church when the crash occurred. He leaves behind a partner and two children.
