A man pushing a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle and fatally injured at South Gilbert Street and West Orangethorpe Avenue in Fullerton on Sunday evening, November 23, 2025.
According to the Fullerton Police Department, the crash happened around 6:40 p.m. when a white Toyota Prius traveling southbound on Gilbert Street made a westbound turn onto Orangethorpe Avenue and struck a man who was pushing a wheelchair north in a marked crosswalk on the west side of the street.
Authorities said the pedestrian’s condition declined after being transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Police said it was unclear whether the pedestrian was crossing against a “Don’t Walk” signal. Investigators stated that alcohol and drugs did not appear to be contributing factors. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
