A driver died after a head-on collision at N. Walnut Grove Road and Dead Horse Island Road in San Joaquin County on Thanksgiving evening, Thursday, November 27, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol Stockton office, the crash was reported around 6:18 p.m. near the Sacramento County border south of the delta town of Walnut Grove.
Investigators said a Ford Mustang and a GMC Yukon collided head-on at the intersection. The Mustang’s driver, an adult man, was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. The Yukon’s driver, also an adult man, sustained injuries of an unknown severity.
CHP stated that DUI did not appear to be a factor. The roadway was closed during the emergency response but was later reopened.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
