A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a Mercedes-Benz on the Ortega (74) Highway in Rancho Santa Margarita on Saturday afternoon, November 30, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of Ortega Highway near Mile Marker 13.
The Orange County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to the scene at 12:53 p.m. A SigAlert was issued at 12:54 p.m., prompting a temporary closure of the highway in both directions for approximately two hours while authorities conducted their investigation.
