One man was killed, and several others were injured following a seven-vehicle crash in Huntington Beach on Tuesday afternoon, December 2, 2025.
According to Huntington Beach Police Department spokeswoman Jessica Cuchilla, the crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Goldenwest Street and Heil Avenue.
Preliminary information indicated that a gray Tesla Model 3 was traveling eastbound on Heil Avenue at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control while crossing Goldenwest Street. The Tesla collided with multiple vehicles, and debris from the impacts struck additional nearby cars. The Tesla rolled several times before coming to rest east of the intersection.
Huntington Beach Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the Tesla driver, a 37-year-old man, deceased at the scene.
Authorities said three people, including an Orange County Probation Department officer, were transported to hospitals in stable condition, and several others were treated at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
