A driver suffered minor injuries after falling asleep at the wheel and crashing near Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo County on Thursday morning, December 4, 2025.
According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department, the crash occurred around 8:15 a.m. when the driver fell asleep and struck several parked, unoccupied vehicles before their car rolled over and came to rest on Hathway Avenue.
Police stated that the airbags had deployed, and both the driver and passenger were wearing seatbelts. The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, while the passenger was not injured.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
