A 23-year-old man remained hospitalized after sustaining severe head trauma in a collision on Britannia Boulevard near the Otay Mesa border crossing in San Diego on Friday afternoon, December 5, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, officers responded at 2:37 p.m. to the 2100 block of Britannia Boulevard.
Police said the man had been riding a moped to the right of slower vehicles when a 45-year-old woman driving a black 2018 Cadillac XTS SUV northbound began making a right turn into a driveway. The moped then struck the passenger side of the SUV.
Authorities said alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The SDPD Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
