A 27-year-old motorcyclist suffered major injuries after a crash involving a truck on northbound Highway 101 in the Summerland area in Santa Barbara County on Friday morning, December 5, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. just south of Padaro Lane.
CHP said the motorcyclist had been lane splitting through traffic when he collided with a Ford F250 work truck and ended up in the truck’s bed. The crash blocked both northbound lanes until around 8:00 a.m., when the No. 1 lane reopened. All lanes were fully reopened by 9:50 a.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
