A fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Interstate 5 in downtown San Diego on Saturday night, December 7, 2024.
At approximately 8:25 p.m., California Highway Patrol issued a Sig Alert for the southbound lanes of I-5 near Sassafras Street and Kettner Boulevard, close to the San Diego International Airport.
The pedestrian was struck while crossing the highway, resulting in fatal injuries.
CHP has not released further details, and the investigation is ongoing.
