A motorcyclist, identified as 39-year-old Cannon P., was fatally injured in a collision with a Jeep on Pioneertown Road near Shelter Cove Lane in Yucca Valley, San Bernardino County, on Sunday afternoon, December 8, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was riding southbound on Pioneertown Road at approximately 12:30 p.m. when he crossed the double yellow lines to pass another vehicle.
While in the northbound lane, his motorcycle collided with a Jeep driven by a 57-year-old Seattle resident.
The rider was transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Jeep and two passengers were not injured in the crash.
The CHP is investigating the incident but stated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors.
