A 30-year-old man from Atascadero was killed, and another individual sustained moderate injuries in a crash involving a U-Haul van on Highway 32, Tehama County, on Sunday afternoon, December 8, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 1:53 p.m. when a white and orange U-Haul GMC Savana Box Van was traveling westbound at milepost marker 32 TEH 8.70.
The driver allowed the vehicle to veer off the right (north) edge of the roadway, descending an embankment and colliding with a tree.
The front right passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the individual who died in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
