[12-10-2024] Bicyclist Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle on Airport Drive in OildaleA bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle in Oildale, Kern County, on Tuesday night, December 10, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Airport Drive, south of Washington Avenue.

The bicyclist suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the CHP’s investigation.

Family members of the bicyclist arrived shortly after the incident and confirmed their identity. However, the name of the victim has not yet been released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities are investigating whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
